A domain name is your address on the web, for example, blisswebdesign.com or google.co.uk.
A website will require at least one domain name, usually yourbusinessname.com. Many common names, places and business type domain names will already be registered. It is essential to check if the domain name you would like is available before naming your new business.

The best domain names are short and easy to spell with no hyphens; your customers must remember them.
Your domain name will also be used in your email addresses, for example, yourname@yourbusiness.com, einfo@yourbusiness. This is also why you don't want your domain name to be too long.
Hosting is the space on a large computer (called a server) where a websites files, pages, pictures, content, programs etc., are uploaded and located. Websites cannot perform without hosting.
When a website is uploaded to a hosting account within the server, anyone with internet access will see it. A hosting account will also look after your emails, amongst other things.
Because you usually get what you pay for. You will find that these companies will get their money off you in other ways. There will be a charge for your hosting, your emails, the size of your site, expensive helplines when something goes wrong, to name but a few. Remember, just because you can buy a pair of pliers doesn't mean you're a dentist.

We will build your website as quickly as possible, but the time taken for each project will differ depending on its size, your input and the content you supply to the site. But as a rough guide, a website consisting of 5 to 8 pages with most of the content provided by you would take 2 to 4 weeks. A similar site but with most of the content supplied by us would take 5 to 7 weeks.
If you're hosting the site with us, as soon as we have your order, we will put a single page site up with a brief description of what you do and your contact details, including your new email address if required.
